Correct and wrong at the same time, he burn all books he regard useless, that mean the book of history, poetry and culture of other kingdoms, he keep books of medicine, agriculture, military and politics. Even tough he did all this he build a library in his palace, there was stored a book of each he destroyed, it was later during the fall of Qin when the rebel army of Xiang Yu pillage the palace and burn the library. He intended if I recall well to release them back after more peaceful times. Today historians believe all story about the mad emperor are more fabrications of the Dynasty who overthrow him, I saw that now id regarded as a good emperor, not like he was a good guy, but a good leader and politician.
The problem was hi last years trying to make himself immortal. He become superstitious in his last years and he hope the heaven would open for him as they did for ancient kings making him immortal, but that never happen and drive him to madness. There are passages about him reaching a sacred mountain where could be acknowledged by Tian (Heaven), but he dont respect the ritual, refuse to travel on foot and harm the nature, then a storm with thunders descend at the mountain before to reach the peak in disapproval. Tough this story can be a fabrication also.

according to history Zheng was a paranoid MF and he wasn't this sweet kind king you see in this show, he once wiped out an entire village cause he saw a comet falling near it in his dreams and when he asked the villigers they said they don't know so he killed them for treason as for China comets meant that the current king will die or a disaster will happen

Considering how they reward notable wartime accomplishments I definitely was expecting Xin and/or Xin's group to have been acknowledged or promoted in some way, seeing as how massively major their role turned out to be during that rebellion. Then again, it's looking like this wasn't the season finale, so maybe a reward ceremony of some kind might actually still happen in the next episode or something...

Anime started out more about Xin, and now its more about Zheng

Sima Qian is one of the oldest chinese historian 2100years ago, he lived around 1century after this, Qin was the 1st han empror to unify china, xin was his main general.....so most of the battle result and "named" death are accurate...actually, han own china, and qin is revered as the spiritual father of chinese propaganda of unification.....qin emperor is the one who have the biggest unexplored tomb in the world in x'ian on a 15km² cimetierry, and terra cotta army is his side butt for eternity...qin is probably one of them ^^

bro this all wrong lool 1st Qin is a state, "Qin shi Huang aka ei sei/zheng was the 1st to unify china" Han dynasty comes after with Lui bang as emperor. Xin was not his main general it was wang Jian aka Ousen. Xin participated in the conquest and he was the main general when they tried to go for chu but got defeated badly i think your getting him confused with Han's general Han Xin who was a beast!!

Yeah you are right, I think many confuse him with Liu Bang general Han Xi, our Xin is mostly a nameless general his real self is like Bi in anime. I would add also that another main of Qin was Meng Tian as general, after unification he was the biggest named general and his brother Meng Yi, as the most trusted politician of Zheng.

Brilliant! The ending leaves much to be desired, but far from a cliffhanger. Glad to see Zheng left his step-siblings alive, though he was quite brutal in reality, but it aligns with his anime personality.

15 years - it's fairly impossible to unite China even as a horde in Europa Universalis 4 at game start in that time, yet Zheng is flexing on all EU4 grandmasters and the devs 😂

Well Qin, was a formidable war machine at the time, this is not a made up event, those 15 years must be the real time it took in real life.

I didn't deny that it was unified in a short time, and infact, the largest empires were united very quickly - including the Mongol Empire, the Mughal Empire, the first Caliphate, Napoleonic France, and the German Empire. My last statement was more of a joke, considering EU4 is one of the most realistic alt-history games and the best of the best go to insane lengths to break records - the best being a world conquest within 40 yrs of the start date - at 1484!

My heart was not ready for the stone cold face Zheng had when he announced the 15 year war coming ahead. I was really more like Xin. My head was, "I better start working out, I will need just about as much stamina as will power to conquer the world, and at least a palet of Kleenex, just in case". And all this just to have heart strong enough to hold all the emotions that come out with the greatest anime the world will witness. So does anyone knows where do I put my money to make sure we get this masterpiece come to fruition till the very end???
